Piranha 3D

*May not be actual film poster.
SF: Firstly I really didn't want to see this film. I've seen the original and can't say it even went into my comedy horror or films so bad they are good list. So this is placed in a lake and they find the fish and aren't sure if they should close the place queue death and loads of people in swim wear. 10 mins in I was about to cry, Christopher Lloyd please tell me why you were in this? At that point I start skipping forward - sorry 50Eggs but I coulnd't help it. Also if the fish evoled over 2 millions years what were they eating to stay alive? *Spoiler* And then they ate a penis...oh dear heaven it was as bad as Snakes on a Plane 2/10

50 Eggs: Is it horribly violent, shamefully juvenile? Yes. Does it aim squarely at the lowest common denominator? Yes. Did I like it? YES! I know its awful but its hilarious all the same, and frankly you could have got rid of the piranhas and I would still have enjoyed it just for Kelly Brooks' star turn. 8/10

The Sorcerers Apprentice

SF: Not as bad as I expected. Nice effects plus an alright storyline - ok so the characters were a bit flat but overall fun. 6/10

50 Eggs: I liked this. It was all a bit clichéd I guess but that didn't stop me enjoying it. I doubt they'll do a sequel though. 7/10

The A-Team

SF: The plot was ok but really how did they make the A-team dull? Skip this and watch Losers. 3/10

50 Eggs: Very disappointing. So much waisted potential. Nothing like the series. They should have gone with a Starsky & Hutch style comedy if they were going to mess with it anyway. 5.5/10

The Karate Kid

SF: This was ok at best, had a Sunday afternoon feel and some bits were just pure cheese. Didn't love it though. 5/10

50 Eggs: Mildly entertaining but a big let down really. The original hasn't aged well but its still better than this, and you kinda think that Jaden Smith would benefit from a good kicking. 5/10

Splice

SF: Ah my eyes. I loathed this movie, the story was boring and slow. The characters under developed and just horrific. I still feel ill thinking of this film. 0/10

50 Eggs: Gross to the point where I had to cover my eyes and squirm in my seat. But I did like the concept and there was a creepy atmosphere throughout. I couldn't watch it again but its still worth 8/10

Inception

SF: Christopher Nolan - a man with true vision. Everything is superb The cast (how Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't have an Oscar yet is insane) are all at their best. The concepts, the effects, all superb. Emotive and awe-inspiring. 10/10

50 Eggs: This is what cinema is all about. Great action, stunning SFX, imagination and a complex but coherent plot. Wow. The best films always seem to come out of nowhere. 10/10

DonkeyB: Yeah, it is that good. As near to perfect as you can get. If I don't give this film ten what conceivably would I give a ten to? I watched it twice in 24 hours at one point. 10/10

Predators

SF: Tense, full of action and still surprised me at points, on a par with the original movies. 8/10

50 Eggs: At last, a film that does justice to the original. Faithful to Predator, but certainly not just a retread. Wipes the horrible memory of Predator 2 away. 8.5/10

Iron Man 2

SF: Iron Man set the bar very high indeed so it would be near impossible to top it. Personally I never liked Whiplash as a baddie, can't say this film helped in that respect but WarMachine is cool and I'm glad he was finally in this one. Took a while to get going but great finale. 6.5/10

50 Eggs: Really boring. Clearly this is just a build up to the Avengers movie but is that a good reason to eject all the excitement present in the first movie? No. The last scene was ok but everything else - plot, bad guy, action - was all below average. 4.5/10

Clash of the Titans

SF: I was very excited about this film, as I adore the 1981 original. Now the action was gripping and I can't fault it there but Perseus was basically a piece of wood. For the unfortunate moments he got to speak I was cringing in my seat. Mads Mikklesen was the only character with a tiny bit of depth but thoroughly let down by a rather poor plot. I've no idea why they changed the story around? The addition of Io was particularly unnecessary.  At least Alexa Davalos was engaging for her little screen. Not to mention the biggest crime, leaving Bubo behind.Clearly no one remembers that Bubo is that one who always saves the day in the original movie. 5/10

50 Eggs: From the moment Jurassic Park came out I was gagging for studios to start remaking the Greek Myths. This wasn't quite what I had in mind. It should have been awesome but thanks to a lazy script and odd pacing, it's just ok. Sam Worthing is awful in the lead role. He's too old and utterly lacking in talent. I did enjoy some of the set pieces though so it's not a total disaster. 6/10

The Dark Knight

SF: Batman Begins was amazing (10/10) so this had to work pretty hard to win me over. Firstly Heath Ledger blow me away, I was rather worried when they cast him but after seeing this I take back any concerns. This installments captures all that was good in its predecesor and runs. Fantastically dark and complicated. 9/10

50 Eggs: The Emperors new clothes are as revealing as ever. Yes this is a decent film and Heath Ledger is a great Joker, but it's nowhere near as exciting as 'Begins' and is way way too long. And, other than 'hide the pencil', there are no stand out scenes. 7/10
