Green Lantern

SF: I always thought Green Lantern was a decent super hero but Hal Jordon really had no imagination. Alas this seems to have spread to the script writers too. Bored to tears, I almost didn't make it to the end. I wanted to like this film but the characters are one dimensional and the plot (though fine in the comic) has been reduced to nonsense. Also don't like the attempt to emulate Richard Donner's opening to Superman. The effects are fine but I'm struggling to find any redeeming features. 3/10

50 Eggs: Blah blah Me'h. I don't understand how it possible to make a film about a man who can do anything he imagines and yet still make it boring. Plot holes galore too. Would be a lower mark if it weren't for a few good scenes. 5/10

Tree of Life

SF: I walked out after 90 mins. All I have to say - dinosaurs. 1/10
(If you are wondering what the one is for - cinematography was excellent, shame about everything else)

50 Eggs: More like Tree of Boring. Lifted slightly by some good performances from the kids. 3/10

DonkeyB: Dinosaurs? Really? I liked the family bits (liked is the wrong word, but I'm too lazy to think of the right one), but God it was pretentious, and that's me speaking. 3/10

Overall - 2.3/10

X-men: First Class

SF: Why! The timeline is soo messed up. I tried to tell myself it's a parallel world but the more I think of it the more I loathe it. 4/10

50 Eggs: Awesome. Good story, good performances and brilliant set pieces. Time lines are always messed up in comics (ahem) so that didn't bother me in the slightest. 9/10

DonkeyB: January Jones is NOT sexy in this film. That is kind of a problem plotwise. Don't even get me started on the whole Cuban missile crisis thing. Why is Captain America ok to mess with history and this isn't? Oh, yeah sorry short reviews. I was bored the arse off as well. 3/10

Overall - 5.3/10

Senna

SF: This came out of nowhere for me, I'm not an F1 fan, all I knew was Senna's name but this was nothing short of excellence in film making. Was really glad I'd seen it so 8/10

50 Eggs: Best documentary I've ever seen in the cinema. Its the only one too, but that doesnt take away from its goodness. 8/10

DonkeyB: Loved this, unfortunately my experience ruined by the berk behind. I'm a big F1 fan and remember the day Senna died really quite vividly for something that happened when I was so young. Very very powerful. 9/10

Overall - 8.3/10
